Rochester is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Rochester is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

A really nice bookstore find along my long journey out east! Note that these are all new books, no used, and everything is pretty much at list price. Sweet cafe on the first floor with nice views where you can sit and enjoy your read. Easy to find, free parking lot, great location.

Just moved to Rochester and I’ve been wanting to check out this coffee shop/book store. I was not disappointed, the vibes were immaculate! The staff was super sweet and I enjoyed a warmed chocolate croissant and an iced latte. Both were delicious. I went upstairs and it was so beautiful. It’s very majestic. I will be returning. Great place if you need to study or want to read or even just sit with a few friends and chat.

I love a cozy bookstore coffee shop, and this one has a great vibe with beautiful decor, many books and comfy seating, an upstairs, and a big parking lot and outdoor seating. The vegan lemon poppy seed pop tart was really nice. We liked that the drinks are named after books, and have housemade syrups, but unfortunately we were both disappointed by our Maple Sugar Moon lattes; it was supposed to be flavored with cardamom, maple syrup, and maple sugar, but we couldn’t taste any flavor at all. Just tasted like milk and coffee. Maybe we just came on an off day or chose the wrong drink for strong flavor. We were also a bit surprised that the barista didn’t call out the drinks, just set them on the counter (it was a slow Friday morning) so we missed them being ready for a while. Overall nice experience tho

The Siren and The Sea is a beautiful and inviting space, combining the comfort of a coffee shop with the charm of a curated bookstore. We ordered a Gary Soto, a vanilla latte, and a caramel latte β€” all of which were well-crafted and delicious. The drinks were smooth, flavorful, and clearly made with care. While the atmosphere was cozy and the coffee hit the mark, the service could have been warmer. The cashier didn’t greet us and repeatedly asked β€œis that all” after each order, even though it was clear we were one group of four. It felt a bit rushed and impersonal, which stood out in an otherwise lovely experience. Still, the overall vibe and quality of the drinks make this a place worth visiting again. With just a little more attention to hospitality, it could easily be a five-star favorite.

Siren has only been open for 3 days and it was packed to the rafters! At 11:00 we ordered the Gary Soto (Hot Chai Latte with Orange Syrup Served with wrapped vegan chocolate) I still have no idea where the wrapped chocolate was and a Americano. We didn’t get our drinks until 11:25. The numbers for the drinks were not called out in order at all. Customers who came in way after us got their drinks whilst we sat there twiddling our thumbs. The barista’s were visibly picking and choosing which ones to serve as we could hear them! I mentioned that to a member of staff and she said we are busy and told me to go read a book! I found that extremely rude as no one was shouting our numbers out and we had to work it out ourselves by periodically checking the drinks. So reading a book wouldn’t have worked. Giving a dig with a smile doesn’t make it any better. The Americano was undrinkable. My partner said it tasted like pickle juice. So he just left it. Would I come here again? I am willing to give them the benefit of doubt as they were overwhelmed for a short while and my Gary Soto was absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend getting this drink. I am willing to change my rating i
